WatchWatch
Over the past two years I have been following bands and attending recordings, live shows, practices, and short tours. Here are 632 photographs I have taken of the band Red Circle Underground compiled together with some stop motion parts to their song ‘Temecula’.

NO
BLOWS MY GAWD DAMN MIND! Very seldom do I hear the first song of a new band being performed and immediately I say to myself “this band is going to go all the way TO THE TOP!” To put it in perspective I have been to maybe 250+ shows in the past 2 years. I have said this maybe twice. With a similar voice to Bill Callahan and music similar to The National you will be taken to that special...

The Pierces
I rocked with the extreme pleasure at Bardot last night to sisters Allison Margaret Pierce and Catherine Eleanor Pierce which front an American/Folk/Indie/Rock band The Pierces. Their voices are amazing and draw you in with their rhythmic folk guitar strumming. One of my favorite songs they played with “Boring” which has humorous catchy lyrics. All around a fabulous band that will get...

Cannoneers
Hey rock and rollers you must get out and get your faces melted by Cannoneers! They had a CD release show at Three of Clubs Friday the 13th. I did the artwork for the album and it was a gigantic celebration of all the hard work and emotion they put into making the album. Even though I have worked with them for the past year, rocked out to their songs, I had never been able to make a show.  All I...

Chasing Kings
Chasing Kings really hits that special place for me in my musical soul that not many local bands hit. Some bands I have to warm up to in order to see possible hit songs. Chasing Kings is one of those bands you go to the show, you really don’t know the songs and you are an instant fan after the first song. The stage charisma, dashing looks, strong melody, is all lead by a fantastic voice that...

Holy Water Buffalo
Straight from Utah this band drove out to play at The Satellite Monday January 9th to close the night. Based on their appearance I thought I was about to listen to a quite folk session from a bunch of out of state hipsters. To my surprise my face got melted off with this rare rendition of rock and roll that they threw at the crowd. They dominated the stage like a local LA band who was familiar...

Kiev
Kiev is one of Orange County’s hottest up and coming bands. They have exploded in the last 6 months, after their mind blowing 3D show, and have also won several local awards in between being all over the music scene in both video and article reviews. Their new EP, Be gone Dull Cage & Others, is followed by their previous EP, Ain’t No Scary Folks In Or Around Here. I gave it a good long...

Useless Keys
Grunge fans your post nirvana face will be rebuilt with the psychedelic sounds of useless keys’ anything but white noise. The band has been formed a for several years. I have followed them for about two and seen memebers come and go and now I am so pleased to announce they are back to the original four. Currently they are rerecording some of their original hits like “white...

Saint Motel
Saint Motel is your basic rock and roll band with a bit of pop to it. They are real popular in the youth crowds but their rock out shows attract us young at hearts as well. They just released their vinyl 7”1 record “At least I have nothing” and Dec 3rd had a release show at Origami Vinyl in Echo Park to celebrate. Due to the limited nose bleeding high stage they put on a bit of a...

Rival Sons
Rock and Roll Junkies; this is the all time, ass kicking, stage dominating, and touch you deep in your AC/DC home grown soul, local Los Angeles band for you. Rival Sons has been rocking the scene since 2008. They are working their way up the D.I.Y. ladder fast, especially since their new release http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MA0m1K2jW4 . Other current bands out that share their sound are Band of...

Connie Lim's new song "Walk on"
Walk on..I first heard this song live at the AC S upper Cluba couple weeks back. I told her I had to have a copy of it for my site to share the love of this song. The lyrics are so catchy and true. I just love the raw and unique sound she brings. Connie is such an entertaining performer with a beautiful voice and it shows she loves what she does. ”Walk on” caught me over all the...

I'm not buying into this......
Music is everywhere.  Musicians have so many avenues to take.  They can almost do it on their own without a record deal.  It does have its advantages and disadvantages.  With record deals a band can have the ability to be heard on a broad spectrum faster.  On the other hand doing it on your own may be more fulfilling.  Without a big monopoly involved a band is more free to control their image, and...
