THE HUDSON BLOCK PARTY 2012
A few photographs of the event including some awesome local bands. DWNTWN, Adventure Galley, Little Hurricane, The Neighbourhood, and Haim. The Hudson Block Party’s space was expanded this year with an area for DJ music, and another area for live bands. It was still packed shoulder to shoulder. It was a musical event full of spirits and great eats. I suggest you check it out next year if you did not get the pleasure to do so this year.

Caught a Ghost Rocked the full house at the second Monday of their Satellite residency. The mix of some rap, with a bumping beat base, twisted with rock and roll, add a pinch of sax and you have a moving crowd. I suggest you check them out before the May residency is up..still two Mondays Left!

Sweaters! They met every expectation I had for a fun time. They are known for their hit “Can’t stop winning”. They played mostly new music. They have their first LP coming out soon.

Ben Kweller
I was invited by the glorious Indie 103.1 to photograph his show at The El Rey, April 25, 2012. They will have the full set of photos posted in about a week. I personally had never heard of Ben Kweller before…apparently I was the only one in the audience who had not. It was a packed house full of thriving fans who had every lyric to every song memorized and enthusiastically sang along. The most amazing thing I was thinking throughout the show, besides his great lyrics and mind blowing guitar talents, was the fact that he was able to run through genres of folk, rock and roll, acoustic, and slow piano ballads. I thought this was an amazing feat. Not many artists can tastefully pull that trick off. I left the show a fan that plans to memorize all the lyrics before next time so I can join the sing-a-long.
